Treating business like a video game

I recently watched a fun action film called “Boss Level”

It’s about a guy who’s stuck in a time loop where he spends the same day getting hunted by various assassins who are trying to kill him.

And every time he dies, he wakes up and starts the day over again.

It’s kind of like “Groundhog Day” but with a bunch of killing (it’s probably closer to the films “Happy Death Day” and “Edge of Tomorrow”)

No spoilers here, but the main character has to learn from his mistakes every day, and survive for longer each time until he can find the boss who is behind it all and beat him.

It has a video game feel, not just with the title but with other stuff throughout it.

The movie is a lot like what video game players have to do … with many games (ie: the Super Mario ones) you usually get killed early in a new level but improve each time as you learn about the various tricks and traps.

You get better and better, and eventually beat the level to move on to the next one to start the cycle over again until you finally beat the game.

I view business the same way.

You probably won’t beat the game the first time trying it, but the successful entrepreneurs take lessons from each defeat and aim to do better the next time.

As Robin Sharma said:

“There are no mistakes in life, only lessons. There is no such thing as a negative experience, only opportunities to grow, learn and advance along the road of self-mastery. From struggle comes strength. Even pain can be a wonderful teacher”

Speaking of soaking in lessons, I share the ones that I learn while building my coaching business in my Secret Coach Club.
